Rambler 25

About Rambler 25

This design is different in many ways.  Not just the look but also features a 3 valve switchable output to obtain output drive distortion at different “Stage” levels. There is a 15 watt head and a 25 watt head with reverb, cabinets are  1 X 12,  2 X 12,  2 X 10, or even a  1 X 15 as requested.

With the new Rambler there is no pre amp distortion (master volume). This is achieved only in the output stage. It has two channels, Channel 1 with volume and tone controls, the core sound is just like our Plexi amp. Channel 2 has a cleaner sound with a 3 way tone stack similar to our Romany pro amp.

The output is single ended Class "A" with 3 output valves. Due to this design other valves may be used without any bias adjustment, Suggestions would be EL34's, 5881's or KT66's. These valves are switched so you can use 1, 2 or 3 valves giving you different levels of head room (Peak) This enable’s you to drive the output hard and achieve a range of distortion levels without  getting too loud in the band mix. For home and studio use It also has a “Studio Switch” this reduces the output by 3/4.
